By filling your side of the map with passive buildings that constantly generate cheap units, you force the opponent to spend all their elixir simply trying to survive.

However, simply throwing four random huts into a deck will not work; the strategy requires careful synergy, defensive anchors, and specific spell baiting to succeed.
Choosing Your Huts
The Furnace provides massive splash-damage value, instantly killing enemy swarms and forcing the opponent to respond to the fire spirits before they connect with the tower.

The Barbarian Hut is the heavy investment (often costing 7 elixir) and is usually played only in double elixir; it acts as an immovable defensive wall while generating massive, high-health pressure.
It provides constant ground distraction and acts as a hard counter to single-target tanks like the Prince. If they just used their Fireball on your tower, you have a safe 10-second window to place your new hut.Your goal in single elixir is simply to set up one or two buildings and survive. Furthermore, these fragile support units act as 'Spell Bait'; if the opponent uses their Fireball to kill your Flying Machine, your Goblin Hut is completely safe to generate infinite value.

If they drop a Wizard behind their tower to clear your goblins, you instantly Poison the Wizard and the tower simultaneously, gaining massive value.

You are daring the opponent to break through an infinite wall of meat shields.

Build the city, protect the infrastructure, and watch the endless wave wash over them.
